PITTSBURGH, PA — After years of farmers markets, catering, pop-ups and operating as a ghost kitchen, a popular Pittsburgh eatery now has a brick-and-mortar location.
Mexcian restaurant El Colibri opened on Wednesday on Penn Avenue in Garfield. Mayor Corey O'Connor was among those celebrating the restaurant's debut.
"El Colibri is proud to be a Latina women-owned business and the 7th women-owned business to open in the Penn Avenue Arts & Commercial District," a post on the eatery's Facebook stated.
"Thank you Pittsburgh for believing in us from day one.Todos son bienvenidos!"
Among the items on the menu are Mexian street corn, gordhos, soy choro cheese tacos, oyster mushrooms and potato and pepper tacos.
