PITTSBURGH, PA — A man who was wounded in an altercation that killed a woman outside of a Pittsburgh-area bar in April has filed a lawsuit against the tavern and the accused shooter.
The 11-county lawsuit was filed in Westmoreland County. The information first was reported by TribLive.
The deadly incident occurred outside of Niki's Quick Six on First Street in Parks Township, Armstrong County.
Pennsylvania State Police said that troopers were dispatched to the bar and they found Jessia Hillar, 34, of Apollo, dead when they arrived. Three others were injured in the shooting, one critically.
One of the victims who attempted to intervene in the incident, Hector Saballos Jr., assserts in the lawsuit the owners and staff at Niki’s Quick Six were negligent in serving alcohol to the man prior to the shooting.
The suspect in the shooting, David Dunmire, 36, of Vandergrift, faces charges that include criminal homicide. He has been held without bond since April in the Armstrong County Jail.
