PITTSBURGH, PA — A well-known Strip District craft brewing location soon will shut its doors forever.
Helltown Brewing on Penn Avenue's final day of operation is scheduled for Aug. 30.
"The property that has been home to our Strip District location is expected to be redeveloped by its ownership into a new residential project, bringing this chapter of our history to a close," a post on taproom's Facebook page stated.
"While saying goodbye to this location is bittersweet, Helltown Brewing remains committed to brewing exceptional beer and serving customers throughout Western Pennsylvania."
Founded in 2011, Helltown distributes its beers to Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia. The brewery was named after Mt. Pleasant's nickname during the Whiskey Rebellion in the late 1700s.
Helltown stated that it intends to reopen in a new space in the city in the futre.
"We look forward to raising a glass with you before we close this chapter and begin the next," the Facebook post stated.. "Keep your eyes open as we look to settle into another Pittsburgh location."
