Former Pittsburgh-Area Lawmaker Facing Child Porn Charges: Report

An FBI raid of a former Western Pennsylvania lawmaker's home has resulted in him being charged with child pornography crimes.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A former state lawmaker who represented parts of Allegheny, Beaver and Washington counties is facing federal child pornography charges, WTAE-TV reported.

According to court papers obtained by the station, Jesse White, 46, now of Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, was charged on Tuesday after the FBI raided his home and seized multiple computers and hard drives.

Court papers said one of the laptops contained multiple files containing child pornography featuring minors between the ages of 7 and 15.

Authorities were alerted to the situation via complaints on the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children's CyberTipline that were received in June.

White, a Democrat, represented the 46th District in the House of Representatives from 2007 t0 2015.

He currently runs a Mechanicsburg-based political consulting firm.

According to documents from the Disciplinary Board of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court,White was disbarred as an attorney in 2017 after misusing client funds to support a compulsive gambling addiction.

He applied for reinstatement in March, asserting that he had conquered his addiction.
