Pittsburgh-Area Restaurant Cited By State

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture has cited a Pittsburgh-area restaurant for several health code violations.

Following a recent inspection, the department ruled that Do Wood-Fired on Fifth Street in Irwin was out of compliance with state regulations.

Food items must be refrigerated at 41 degrees or below to be safely stored. But inspectors found that foods that included cheese, chicken, and other meat had been stored in a beverage cooler for an undetermined amount of time at temperatures ranging between 58 and 68 degrees.

The food was discarded during the inspection.

The ambient temperature of two beverage coolers were at 58 and 68 degrees separately.

Many house flies were found in the kitchen and prep area because a door had been propped open.
