PITTSBURGH, PA — A growing fast-casual restaurant chain has its eye on expansion in Pennsylvania, and one of its target locations is Pittsburgh.
Love & Honey Fried Chicken, which already has three locations in Eastern Pennsylvania, New York and Rhode Island, hopes to open eateries in seven Pennsylvania locales.
The news first was reported in QSR Magazine, a media brand that covers the quick-service and fast casual restaurant industries.
Although Love & Honey currently is a relatively small chain, it has won numerous awards in the Philadelphia area. It also has been lauded nationally as having some of the nation's finest fried chicken by Today.
"Todd and Laura Lyons really do make every piece of their fried chicken with love," the program's website wrote about the chain.
"It's brined for 8 hours before being fried in small batches. They also buy their chicken from farms that don't use steroids or antibiotics.
"Customers are willing to wait upwards of 40 minutes for this chicken which is "dredged" in buttermilk, seasoned and then fried in canola and corn oil blend. It's finished with a touch of honey, hence the name."

Love & Honey did not identify where its restaurants will be in those locations. Nor did the chain provide an estimated opening date for the eateries.
