PITTSBURGH, PA — A man was shot and killed early Friday in the city's Hill District.
At approximately 3 a.m., Pittsburgh police responded to the 2400 block of Bedford Area for a reported shooting.
Preliminary information indicates the male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the back. Officers immediately provided d first aid measures until Pittsburgh EMS arrived.
Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead there at approximately 3:40 a.m.
Homicide detectives remain on scene. The mobile crime unit responded to process the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
