PITTSBURGH, PA — A Pittsburgh-area restaurant has a persistent pest problem.
Real Thai Cuisine on Route 19 in Cranberry been branded out of compliance by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture for repeatedly violating state health regulations.
During a state inspection this week, German cockroaches were observed behind a sink. It's the seventh time the eatery has been cited for a roach problem during an inspection since July 2024.
The inspection report noted that the restaurant now is receiving bi-weekly pest control treatments.
The agriculture department ordered the eatery to clean and maintain the restaurant and remove any dead or trapped insects from the building.
The restaurant remains open while it battles the roach problem. The inspection report did not indicate when Real Thai Cuisine would receive a follow-up review.
