BEAVER COUNTY, PA — A man already charged with the rape of a 12-year-old girl now is facing 100 counts of possessing child pornography, according to court documents.
Authorites said they discovered more than 2,500 images and images of child pornography on the phone Luke Poteete, 22, of Beaver Falls.
Police told WPXI-TV the children in the pictures and videos ranged from two to 10 years old.
According to the Beaver County Times, a search warrant was executed by the New Brighton Police Department after Poteete was previously arrested in April after being accused of raping and assaulting a child in his car in New Brighton.
Investigators searched Poteete's phone and cloud account to for files during a limited time Poteete allegedly communicated with the alleged rape victim. That's when they found the child pornography content.
According the website of Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Poteete was a student there and played on the men's tennis team in 2025.
Poteete currently is being housed in the Beaver County Jail.
According to court documents, he is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on possessing child sexual abuse material in August.
His trial on charges of rape of child, sexual assault and other alleged crimes related to that incident is expected to begin in September.
