Callers said the items were thrown in the area of Connor and Old Connor roads, as well as on Library Road near the Dairy Queen plaza.

After police investigated, "the items were unfortunately determined to be deceased kittens.," the Facebook post stated.

Police did not say how many kittens were involved in the incident.

Police are asking anyone who was in the area, or may have witnessed anything that could help the investigation, to contact 911 and advise dispatch that you would like to speak with an officer.

"Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could be helpful to our investigation. We appreciated the community's cooperation and support."
