National Restaurant Chain Closes 2 Pittsburgh Locations

A well-known restaurant chain has permanently closed the doors of two of its Pittsburgh eateries.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A national restaurant chain has shuttered two of its five Pittsburgh locations as part of a larger plan to reduce its footprint across the country.

Noodles & Company has closed its prominent location in Market Square, Downtown and on Penn Avenue and East Liberty. Those eatery locations have been removed from the chain's website.

Noodles & Company locations in Oakland, South Hills Village and Cranberry remain open. The chain's other Pennsylvania locations are in Camp Hill, Harrisburg, Lancaster and York.

The company last August said it planned to close between 12 and 17 underperforming locations in 2026. But Noodles & Company in January revised that number dramatically, saying 30 to 35 restaurants would be shuttered.

"These actions are intended to strengthen the overall health of thee brand and our financial position, helping to ensure we are well-positioned for profitable growth and long-term value creation for our shareholders," company CEO Joe Christina said in a statement at the time.

Noodles & Company began the year with more than 400 company-owned and franchise locations.
