Today's riddle: What do evil hens lay? 🤔 (Answer below!)
1. 1 Dead, 1 Wounded In Pittsburgh Neighborhood Double Shooting (patch.com) — Pittsburgh residents are reeling after a double shooting inside a Homewood business left one man dead and another critically wounded Tuesday afternoon on Frankstown Avenue. Police say an individual is being questioned at headquarters as the investigation continues, and the Allegheny County Medical Examiner has yet to release the victim's identity.
2. Pittsburgh-Area Man Accused Of Shooting, Killing Father (patch.com) — Residents in the Pittsburgh region are learning more about a deadly family incident in Cook Township, Westmoreland County, where a 28-year-old man is charged with killing his father. Investigators say the son claimed a struggle over a gun led to the shooting and possible stabbing, but authorities report no evidence that his mother was in danger or that an altercation occurred as described.
3. Man Arrested In Pittsburgh Stalking Incident (patch.com) — A Bellevue woman reported being followed home from a bar and nearly having her house entered, leading local police to review Ring and borough camera footage that identified a suspect. Officers arrested 26-year-old Anthony Bartos on stalking and related charges, denied him bail, and placed him in Allegheny County Jail ahead of an August 27 preliminary hearing, a case of concern for Pittsburgh-area residents.
4. Pittsburgh storefronts receive $1 million for improvements through grant program (wtae.com) — Pittsburgh has expanded its Main and Main Commercial Façade Grant Program to $1.13 million, funding upgrades for 77 storefronts across city neighborhoods. From Hazelwood's century-old Elizabeth Pharmacy to Frick Park Market, business owners can start façade improvements now and be reimbursed up to $20,000, aiming to boost foot traffic, preserve historic buildings, and strengthen neighborhood business districts.
