PITTSBURGH, PA — Two people were shot and killed in separate incidents in Pittsburgh early Wednesday.
According to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials, city police officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of Chauncey Drive in Bedford Dwellings at 2:55 a.m. for reports of a female shot.
The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, has not been identified.
Police said a man fled the scene on foot. Crime Scene Unit Detectives recovered 5-6 shell casings.
At 5:05 a.m., officers responded to a one-round ShotSpotter alert in the 7000 block of Idlewild Street in Homewood.
When arriving on the scene, they found a man down and unresponsive on the street with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Officers applied a chest seal and rendered aid until medics arrived. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police said there currently are no suspects.
