PITTSBURGH, PA — It was a bar. It was a coffee shop. It was a restaurant. It was all three.
Now it's all gone.
After nine years, Friendship Perk & Brew on South Pacific Avenue in Friendship has permanently closed. An announcement was made Tuesday on the unique Pittsburgh establishment's Facebook page.
"Since 2017, this corner has been so much more than a coffee shop and restaurant—it has been a gathering place, a workspace, and a second home," the post stated.
"To every daily regular who walked through our doors without fail, and to every new face—whether you just moved into the neighborhood or were staying in a local hotel or Airbnb—thank you for finding us, sharing your mornings and afternoons with us, and enjoying countless cups of coffee, breakfast, and lunch over the years.
"We also want to send a heartfelt thank you to all the incredible artists, writers, and creative souls who collaborated with us, filled our walls with life, and partnered with us on so many memorable projects. From unforgettable parties to quiet conversations, every single person who crossed our threshold helped shape the spirit of this business.
"Above all, we want to thank the greater East End community—especially Friendship, Bloomfield, Garfield, Shadyside, and East Liberty—along with every visitor who traveled from across the city and out from of town to spend time with us. Your unwavering patronage and support over these wonderful years mean the world to our team. Thanks again for everything, and we wish everyone the absolute best in the chapters ahead."
