PITTSBURGH, PA — Police are investigating an incident Tuesday night in which a woman was slashed in the face in Oakland.
According to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials, police were dispatched to the 300 block of North Craig Street for a reported aggravated assault.
Arriving units found a woman outside who had been slashed in the face with an unknown weapon following a confrontation with a stranger inside the store where she works.
A man reportedly was reportedly unplugging items in the store to charge his phone when the female confronted him and led him outside where he assaulted her. The victim also received a significant bruise to her head.
Medics transported her to the hospital in stable condition.
Police did not identify the store in which the woman was working.
The man fled the area on foot.
The investigation is ongoing.
