Authorities Attempting To Shut Down Pittsburgh-Area Bar

A drug investigation has prompted law enforcement officials to push for the closing of a Pittsburgh-area bar and restaurant.

NEW BRIGHTON, PA — The Beaver County district attorney says he plans to have a restaurant and bar closed following a drug raid there by authorities last Friday.

Photos and a video posted on Facebook showed police on the scene at the Fifth Avenue Taphouse and police tape cordoning off the establishment.

District Attorney Nate Bible told WPXI-TV on Tuesday that the activity was part of an investigation started by the state Attorney General's Office that also involved multiple other law enforcement agencies.

WPXI reported that police found cocaine and cash during the raid on the restaurant and a house linked to the restaurant. Bible said criminal charges are expected to be filed soon.

Bible said his office will work with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board to shut down the taphouse.
