PITTSBURGH, PA — After 85 years, it appears that one of the city's most renowned bars has closed and is for sale.
The Pleasure Bar, a staple on Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield since 1941, states on its website that it is "temporarily closed for renovations" and invites patrons to "come see our gorgeous new space and hours on Sept. 13."
A day after that date passed, on Sept. 14, the property was listed on LoopNet, an online marketplace that connects buyers, tenants and investors with commercial properties available for sale or lease. Locally, the building is being marketed by Remax Commercial.
The asking price for the building, which includes apartments and office spaces, is $2 million.
The listing describes The Pleasure Bar as "a turn-key, fully equipped bar/restaurant in excellent condition, complete with an active Allegheny County liquor license and all furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Ideal for an owner-operator looking to launch or expand a restaurant concept while generating steady rental income from the residential and office units, or for an investor seeking a high-performing asset in a vibrant commercial corridor."
