PITTSBURGH, PA — A national retailer is preparing to make its regional debut by opening two stores in the Pittsburgh area this month.
Sierra, formerly known as Sierra Trading Post, will open in Bridgeville at the Great Southern Shopping Center on Oct. 17 and at McCandless Crossing on Oct. 29. The off-price retailer sells name-brand outdoor gear, apparel, footwear and home goods at discounted prices.
The opening dates are listed on the Sierra website. According to the Sierra website, the chain's current Pennsylvania locations are in Erie, Exton, York and Dickson City.
The retail chain is under the umbrella of TJX Companies, which also operates Marshalls, T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods, Winners and Homesense stores.
McCandless Crossing already has a HomeGoods store and soon will have a T.J. Maxx as well. Sierra and T.J. Maxx are moving into the space formerly occupied by a Dick's Sporting Goods store. Dick's exited McCandless Crossing to open a Dick's House of Sport in Ross Park Mall.
