PITTSBURGH, PA — After little more than two years in business, Lawrence Hall in Lawrenceville has announced it will close at year's end.
The food hall made the announcement on social media.
"This was not an easy or quick decision," a Facebook post stated.
"Since we first started pursuing this dream in 2018, and since opening our doors in 2024, we have worked hard to make Lawrence Hall a place where neighbors could gather, eat well, and enjoy themselves.
"Like many in our industry, we have faced rising costs and a difficult economic backdrop. We have also faced a series of challenges and setbacks that, in aggregate, became more than we could carry.
"We poured everything we had into making this space something special in Lawrenceville, and we remain deeply proud of what it became. Our sincere hope is that the spirit of this place continues on in whatever comes next."
The post indicated the closing date was designed to support employees through the holidays and allow a scheduled New Year's Eve wedding celebration to occur.
Current food vendors at Lawerence Hall include Loaded, La Palapa, Cuddy's Soul Food and Kazoku Sushi. Also in the hall is the Scoops & Cones ice cream store and the bar Dear James.
