Popular Pittsburgh Pizzeria Apparently Closes

A gourmet pizza establishment in Pittsburgh appears to have closed without explanation. Get the details here.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A popular Pittsburgh pizzeria appears to have gone out of business.

The online ordering system for Alberta's on Western Avenue on the North Side is not accepting orders and its online reservation website is inoperable. Calls to the eatery on Wednesday went unanswered, and Yelp reports the location permanently has closed.

There has been no formal announcement of a closure on social media, however.

Owner Beau Mitall, who could not be reached for comment, founded the operation in 2015. It was named after this late mother, Alberta Gail.

Started as a pop-up and then a truck that served more than a dozen breweries and events around the Pittsburgh area, Mitall began making plans for a more permanent home in 2023. The bricks-and-mortar restaurant opened in 2024.
