PITTSBURGH, PA — Opafe Bakery, the latest addition to SouthSide Works, now is officially open.

The bakery and cafe on Sidney Street is part of the Opal Group restaurant family headed by Andy Qian. It features a menu that includes European-inspired pastries, savory bites, fresh-fruit teas, Vietnamese coffees and house-made matcha creations.

The interior features a "Croissant Gallery" concept, utilizing dark tones and lighting that pays homage to the city's iconic Black & Gold Identity.

Opafe Bakery also includes croissant-inspired decor and lounge-style seating, as well as claw machines intended to add an element of fun to the cafe visit.

"Opafe is about creating more than a place to grab a coffee or pastry," Qian said. "We want every detail, from the food and drinks to the design and playful elements, to give guests something truly memorable. The SouthSide Works opening is an exciting next step in bringing that vision to Pittsburgh."

To celebrate the grand opening, from Thursday through Sunday Opafe will give patrons who spend $20 or more a complimentary specialty drink of their choice. To add an extra element of fun to opening weekend, guests also will have a chance to win Squishy toys.

The cafe is open seven days a week from 7 a.m.-9 p.m.
