One of Pittsburgh's most well-known bars and restaurants will be featured on the award-winning show.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Cast and crew members of the Emmy award-winning hit HBO Max series "The Pitt" are in Pittsburgh this week to film local scenes for its upcoming third season.

One of the scenes will be shot at a legendary Pittsburgh bar.

The century-old Max's Allegheny Tavern on the North Side will be closed on Thursday to allow for the filming of a scene. The tavern is renowned for its German menu offerings.

"From serving Pittsburgh since 1903 to becoming part of one of television's biggest shows, we're proud to see our little piece of North Side history in the spotlight," a post on the bar's Facebook page stated.

"We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone's understanding. We'll be back to serving up your favorite German food before you know it."

Cast members Noah Wyle, Katherine LaNasa, Taylor Dearden and Patrick Ball held a news conference Monday at nearby Allegheny General Hospital, whose emergency room the show is based on. After answering questions, the quartet was taken outside the hospital and saw a large chalk drawing of "The Pitt" cast members.

The third season of the series is expected to begin airing in January.
