PITTSBURGH, PA — Price increases are coming to one of the city's favorite burger restaurants.
Tessaro's, on Liberty Avenue in Bloomfield, announced the hikes in a social media post on Thursday.
"You will see on your table starting this week an announcement indicating some necessary price increases," a post on the restaurant's Facebook page stated.
"Please understand, it is not our intention to price our restaurant out of anyone's budget. We appreciate whoever walks through our front door & challenge ourselves daily to give our very best to you. However, we could wait no longer for the market & rising fuel costs to come down & not affect your wallet. "
"Just as you have witnessed at your local grocery store, we also have to raise pricing. It was necessary to be upfront with each of you, to give you that respect & notice. We hope you will continue to support this restaurant just as you've done for the last 40+ years."
Since opening in 1985, the neighborhood bar and restaurant has garnered a well-earned, award-winning reputation as a place to get some of the best burgers and steaks in Pittsburgh.
Tessaro's has received accolades from publications such as Esquire, Food & Wine, Pittsburgh Magazine and Pittsburgh City Paper.
