Braddock Mayor John Fetterman Launches Lieutenant Governor Bid

Fetterman will challenge Lt. Gov. Mike Stack in next year's Democratic primary.

PITTSBURGH, PA - John Fetterman, the mayor of Braddock whose reputation extends far beyond the borders of the tiny borough east of Pittsburgh, announced he’s running for Pennsylvania lieutenant governor. Fetterman confirmed reports he would enter the race on his Facebook page Tuesday morning.

“I’m running for Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania because I believe that every community is worth fighting for, and that together, we can build Pennsylvania back up,” he said.

Fetterman is expected to be joined by Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto later this morning at Barebones Black Box Theater and Braddock to formally declare his candidacy. Fetterman has meet-and-greet events with supporters scheduled for Tuesday in Braddock and Wedesday in Philadelphia.
