Dr. Oz, David McCormick Tied In GOP Senate Nominee Battle: Poll
Dr. Mehmet Oz and former hedge fund manager David McCormick lead the GOP contenders to succeed retiring Sen. Pat Toomey.
PENNSYLVANIA — Celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz and former hedge fund manager David McCormick are in a dead heat for Pennsylvania's Republican U.S. Senate nomination, according to a new Emerson College-The Hill poll. However, the bulk of GOP voters remain undecided.
The poll results showed that Oz and McCormick each were favored by 14 percent of poll respondents. No other candidate received double digits. Fifty-one percent of the respondents haven't made up their minds ahead of the May 17 primary.
Among Democrats vying to succeed retiring Sen. Pat Toomey, Lieutenant Gov. John Fetterman holds a commanding lead over U.S. Rep. Conor Lamb. Fetterman was favored by 33 percent of Democratic poll respondents, while Lamb garnered 10 percent. No other candidate finished with double digits; 37 percent remain undecided.

Forty-nine percent of GOP voters are undecided in the race to succeed outgoing Gov. Tom Wolf. State Sen. Doug Mastriano of Franklin County, who has been subpoenaed by the congressional committee investigating last year's Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, leads with 16 percent, while former U.S. Rep. Lou Barletta was second with 12 percent.
