PITTSBURGH, PA - The recent heat wave might have had you temporarily fooled into thinking it was still summer, but make no mistake about it: fall is here. October is upon us, and with it comes a host of activities and events, autumnal-related and otherwise.
We’ve combed through the calendar to find a variety of things to do and places to go to keep you hopping until Halloween trick-or-treating concludes the month.

ScareHouse
Thursdays and Sundays from 7-10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from p.m.-11:30 p.m. through Oct. 29, 118 Locust St. Etna (free shuttle service runs from the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Place Aquarium parking lot).

Trax Farms 48th Fall Festival
Runs 10 a.m.-5 p.m. every weekend in October, Trax Farm, 528 Trax Road, Finleyville.
The annual Fall Festival on this 150-year-old farm is a tradition for many families in the South Hills and greater Pittsburgh area. There’s something for everyone from grandparents to grandkids. Enjoy a hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick-your-own pumpkin or see if you can find your way through the giant three-acre corn maze. Admission is free to the Trax Farms Fall Festival, but many activities require tickets.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs. St. Louis Blues, Oct. 4, 8 p.m., PPG Paints Arena, Downtown
Welcome the Stanley Cup champions as they open the 2017-18 season and enjoy a special moment as the Pens’ fifth Stanley Cup banner is hoisted up to the arena rafters.
Penguins-Blues tickets start at $117.

The Price is Right Live, Oct. 7, 8 p.m., Heinz Hall, Downtown
This hit interactive stage show that gives eligible individuals the chance to "Come On Down" to win. Prizes may include appliances, vacations and possibly a new car! Play classic games from TV’s longest-running game show - from Plinko to Cliffhangers to The Big Wheel and even the finale Showcase.
“The Price is Right Live” is sold out. But you probably can purchase a ticket from a scalper...if the price is right.

An Evening With Steve Wozniak, Oct. 10, 8 p.m., Carnegie Music Hall, Oakland
In 1976, Wozniak and Steve Jobs founded Apple Computer Inc. with Wozniak’s Apple I personal computer. The following year, he introduced his Apple II personal computer, featuring a central processing unit, a keyboard, color graphics and a floppy disk drive. Here him recount those days and offer other insights at the culminating event of the American Middle East Institute’s 10th annual conference.
An Evening With Steve Wozniak tickets start at $25.
School of Rock The Musical, Oct. 17-22, Benedum Center, Downtown
Based on the hit film, this hilarious new musical follows Dewey Finn,a wannabe rock star posing as a substitute teacher who turns a class of straight-A students into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. This high-octane smash features 14 new songs from Andrew Lloyd Webber, all the original songs from the movie and musical theater’s first-ever kids rock band playing their instruments live on stage.

Night of the Living Dead: The Musical, 8 p.m. and midnight, Oct. 20-21, Lamp Theater, Irwin
enjoy this new Campy, creepy song filled Halloween classic based on the George Romero classic movie. Zombie walk to the theatre and rock out with the undead. Night of the Living Dead: The Musical tickets are $20.

ZooBoo, Oct. 21-22 and 28-29, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium, Highland Park
Trick-or-treat throughout the zoo at this daytime family favorite event. Enjoy two not-so-spooky haunted houses, a costume competition, and more! ZooBoo activities are included with general admission but additional fees are charged for rides and pumpkins.

Halloween Happenings, Oct. 27, 4-8 p.m., Phipps Conservatory, Oakland
Ghosts and goblins of all ages can come to the Conservatory’s spook-tacular gardens in costume for a day of festive activities. The youngest ghoulish guests are also invited to sink their teeth into healthy and delicious snacks, delight at wickedly carved pumpkins and pot their very own creepy plants. There will be kid-friendly entertainment and a face painter throughout the event.
Halloween Happenings is free with regular admission.

Evanescence, Oct. 30, 8 p.m., Heinz Hall, Downtown
The two-time Grammy Award-winning band brings its “Synthesis Live” tour to town combining its intense live performances and timeless songwriting with a powerful live orchestra. The group best known for the hit, “Bring Me To Live” has a reputation for delivering a transcendent concert experience.
Evanescence tickets start at $48.
