You Can Help Select A New Color For The Phantom's Revenge At Kennywood

The West Mifflin amusement park is letting fans of the nationally recognized coaster select its new paint color.

WEST MIFFLIN, PA — One of Kennywood's best-known attractions will get a new look in 2022. The West Mifflin amusement park plans to paint the Phantom's Revenge and is letting fans vote for the coaster's new color.

The choices are "petrifying purple" or "terrifying teal," according to an amusement park Facebook post. The selection process will not be drawn out; voting concludes at the end of the day Wednesday.

Samples of the new color choices appeared on portions of the track last week.

In July, The Phantom's Revenge finished second in USA Today's national poll on America's Best Roller Coaster. The landmark attraction is Pennsylvania's fastest coaster and has an initial drop of 160 feet.

"The 3,365-foot track of Phantom's Revenge in Kennywood brings visitors frighteningly close to another of the park's coasters, Thunderbolt," USA Today wrote in its review of the coaster. "A
hair-raising highlight is the second drop – a 230-foot thriller at 85 miles per hour."
