PITTSBURGH, PA - The redevelopment of the old Kaufmann's-Macy's department store takes a big step forward next month with the opening of the Even Hotel on the massive building's fifth and sixth floors. The hotel will open Oct. 6, an employee confirmed Friday.

According to its website the 150-room hotel will feature the Cork & Kale restaurant, which will offer a selection of healthy food and beverage options, along with signature cocktails and desserts. There also will be a 24-hour athletic studio and in-room fitness zones.

The hotel entrance is at the intersection of Forbes Avenue and Cherry Way. The facility is owned by IGH which operates a number of other hotels in Pittsburgh, including seven Holiday Inn Express locations, two Hotel Indigo locations, the Kimpton Hotel Monaco, Downtown, and Candlewood Suites in Cranberry.
