NHL, NBA Team Owners Purchase Stake In Steelers: Report
The owners of the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia 76ers have invested millions in the Steelers, a published report says.
PITTSBURGH, PA —The same pair that own the NHL's New Jersey Devils and the NBA's Philadelphia 76eers have purchased a minority interest in the Steelers, according to a published report.
Josh Harris and David Blitzer have acquired a stake of less than 5 percent in the football team. The Bloomberg report said the Wall Street financiers might have invested as much as $140 million based on the $2.8 billion the team was valued at in September by Forbes.
The Steelers had been looking for a new investor after David Tepper, a former minority owner of the team, purchased the Carolina Panthers in 2018.
