'Night Of The Living Dead' Returning To Theater Where It Debuted
A special screening of George Romero's horror masterpiece will occur in the same place it premiered in 1968.

PITTSBURGH, PA - To celebrate its 50th anniversary, George Romero’s horror masterpiece “Night of the Living Dead” is returning to the place it debuted. A restored version of the cinematic classic will be screened at the Byham Theater, where it premiered in 1968.
The 4K state-of-the-art restoration was created by the Museum of Modern Art from the original camera negative.
Though it started as a low-budget horror flick, made far outside the Hollywood system—“Night of the Living Dead” is now considered one of the greatest horror movies ever made, and is credited as the beginning of the modern horror movie genre.

To help commemorate the golden anniversary, all of the living cast members will attend a pre-screening program.
“Fifty later, in the same theater that it premiered in 1968 when it was the Fulton,” event organizer Gary Streiner said. “How many times do you get to show the same movie in the same venue 50 years later? It’s even being screened on the same projectors.”
The premiere is presented by the George A. Romero Foundation and Image Ten. Ticket information will be announced soon.
