Old Missile Command Center To Become Craft Brewery

Grist House Craft Brewery is expanding to the vast site in Collier.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Cold beer soon will be served in a relic of the Cold War. Grist House Craft Brewery in Millvale is expanding to the former Nike Missile Command Center, a 55,000-square-foot facility in Collier Township.

Grist House, which opened in 2014, made the announcement on its Facebook page Wednesday. The missile center will become the brewery’s main production facility, have a large taproom and retail space and also support an extensive barrel aging program.

“Before you get too worried, our Millvale location is not going anywhere and will continue to operate as our home in the city,” the post stated. “Gradually we will be moving the majority of operations to this new building, but will always have our home in Millvale.”
