PITTSBURGH, PA — Pennsylvania Senator-elect John Fetterman makes his initial Netflix appearance next month, appearing in the forthcoming Christian Bale movie, "The Pale Blue Eye."

Fetterman announced the cameo role in the period film via Twitter, sharing a photo of himself and his wife, Giselle, in costume on the movie set.

According to the Internet Movie Data Base, the movie concerns a world-weary detective hired to investigate the murder of a West Point cadet. Stymied by the cadets' code of silence, he enlists one of their own to help unravel the case - a young man the world would come to know as Edgar Allan Poe.

"John's got this incredible face," Bale said in a forum following a recent screening of the movie posted on CineMovie. "That's a face that fits in the 1830s," Bale remembered saying in encouraging the film's director to cast Fetterman for the cameo.

"The Pale Blue Eye" debuts on Netflix Jan. 6.
