Penguins' Sidney Crosby Undergoes Surgery

PITTSBURGH, PA - The Penguins will be without captain Sidney Crosby at least until around the start of the new year. Crosby underwent surgery for a core muscle Thursday and will be out a minimum of six weeks, the team announced.
The surgery was performed by Dr. William Meyers of the Vincera Institute in Philadelphia.
Crosby, 32, leads the team in scoring with 12 assists and 17 points in 17 games for the Penguins this season despite dealing with a sports hernia since training camp.
