Pittsburgh-Area Eatery Shut Down For Numerous Health Violations

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Allegheny County Health Department has ordered the closure Bukeye Stows on Broadway Avenue in Stowe.

A recent inspection found evidence of active rat infestation; sewage backups in the basement; food (imported dehydrated fish) from unknown sources and food stored in non-food-grade containers and packaging.

The eatery also was operating without a valid health permit and neglected to submit plans for a new food facility to the health department.

It's unclear when - or if - Bukeye Stows will reopen.
