Pittsburgh Area Faces Tornado Threat

Tornadoes and severe storms are possible for the southwestern Pennsylvania area Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Scattered severe storms are possible late this afternoon and overnight. The main threat will be damaging wind gusts, large hail and isolated tornadoes, according to the National Weather Service.

A half-inch of rain is possible.

With a cold front moving through the area, expect much cooler temperatures to be the mainstay in coming days. The high today will be in the upper 80s. The high on Thursday is expected to be in the mid-60s.
