Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium Announce Reopening Plans
The zoo and aquarium are reopening with coronavirus-related operating modifications.
PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium will reopen to the public on March 1, but it won't be business as usual for anyone except the animals.
The zoo announced Friday there will be significant coronavirus-related operating modifications when the reopening occurs. They include:
- Required face masks in both indoor and outdoor locations for all visitors over the age of 2, regardless of vaccination.
- Mobile food ordering options.
- No tram service.
- Limited capacity within the park.
- Social distancing markers and reminders throughout the park.
- Plexiglass barriers throughout the park.
- Closure of log ride, zip line and carousel.
- Single queuing lines.
- Tickets can be purchased online or at the front gates.
