Popular Pittsburgh Brewery Planning Major Expansion
Construction has begun on this brewery's new taproom and beer garden.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Seven years after it opened, Allegheny City Brewing on the city's North Side has become so popular that it will significantly expand brewing and taproom operations. The brewery has broken ground on a new standalone taproom and beer garden located near the current Foreland Street location.
The current location will be converted into brewing production building.
The brewery now has 600 square feet of space; it will have 4,800 square feet with the new taproom and adjacent beer garden. The expansion will provide room for the brewing company to add more taps than it currently has.

The new venue also will have a kitchen, but Breweries in PA reported that it will not open immediately. The brewing company plans to continue its partnership with area food trucks while searching for a partner to operate the kitchen.
The expansion is expected to be completed by late spring.
