Popular Pittsburgh TV Reporter Leaving Town

A veteran reporter at a Pittsburgh TV station is headed elsewhere.

PITTSBURGH, PA — WPXI-TV investigative reporter Aaron Martin announced Monday he is leaving the station. His last day on-air will be Wednesday.

"I’ve enjoyed every minute reporting in my hometown over the last six years and telling important stories. But it’s the right time for a new adventure," Martin stated on Twitter.

Martin said he and his family will be moving to Miami later this summer to be closer to his wife's family.

"I’ll be doing the best job of all; being a full-time dad," he said. "I’m grateful to be in this position and I cannot wait to spend more time with my daughter Adley and my amazing wife Katie."

According to his station web page, Martin joined WPXI in August 2015 after spending nearly four years as an investigative reporter and morning anchor at WSLS-TV in Roanoke, VA. He also spend two years at WLUC-TV in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

The Mt. Lebanon native is a Kent State University graduate.
