Severe Storms, Isolated Tornadoes Possible For Pittsburgh Area
The year's first threat of severe weather in the Pittsburgh metro area is occurring Tuesday.
PITTSBURGH, PA - The National Weather Service is forecasting a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms Tuesday as a cold front approaches. The best likelihood of stormy weather is before 8 p.m.
The weather service says an isolated tornado can't be ruled out, although the primary threat from the storms will be damaging wind gusts.
The chance of rain won't end when the cold front passes through. Showers are expected to develop Wednesday afternoon in western Pennsylvania; the high temperature will be in the upper 40s.
