Big Heinz Ketchup Bottles May Remain At Acrisure Stadium After All, Report Says

Not all giant ketchup bottles who wander are lost. Kraft Heinz and the Steelers struck a deal to keep some Heinz presence at Acrisure.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Kraft Heinz and the Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed to a new deal which will keep some signage at the rechristened Acrisure Stadium on the city's North Shore.

Mark Belko of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported the five-year deal ensures that the Heinz Red Zone sponsorship and some digital signage will remain, though the 35-foot-tall Heinz ketchup bottles are already off the scoreboard.

Belko said the team and the company reached a verbal agreement on this new deal, and a Steelers executive declined to release financial terms.

Burt Lauten, the Steelers' director of communications, confirmed with Patch that the team and Kraft Heinz have a deal. He did not provide further details.

Belko also reported one of the big ketchup bottles "could be returning" elsewhere in the stadium under the new deal with the company.

Before a merge with Kraft in 2015, the H.J. Heinz Company had its headquarters in Pittsburgh. Now, the company has a second headquarters in Chicago.

The Steelers reached a 15-year sponsorship agreement with Acrisure, a Michigan-based financial tech company, earlier this month. Acrisure took over naming rights for the stadium after Heinz, which was the stadium sponsor for 21 years, opted not to pursue a new deal with the Steelers.

Acrisure Stadium is also home to the University of Pittsburgh football team.
