PITTSBURGH, PA — A bad NFC North team came into Heinz Field on Monday night and the Steelers were supposed to pulverize them.

How'd that turn out?

You probably remember holding your breath until Chris Boswell nailed that field goal with less than a minute left to give the Steelers a 29-27 victory against the Chicago Bears, who were supposed to be dreadful. That's why the Steelers - and you - probably shouldn't consider a victory this week against the winless Detroit Lions an absolute lock.

This certainly has the feel of a trap game.

The Lions come into town with an 0-8 record well rested after their bye week, while the Steelers are coming off a short week after the aforementioned squeaker against the Bears. There's reason to believe the Steelers could look past the Lions Sunday while concentrating on a trio of tough games coming next against the Chargers, Bengals and Ravens. The Steelers wide receiving corps, already missing JuJu Smith-Schuster, likely will be without Chase Claypoole as he recuperates from a toe injury.
