Steelers Tight End Vance McDonald Retires
The veteran tight end has decided to end his eight-year NFL career.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Steelers tight end Vance McDonald capped an eight-year NFL career by announcing his retirement on Friday.
The Steelers acquired McDonald shortly before the 2017 season from the San Francisco 49ers, who drafted him in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. In four seasons with the Steelers, he started in 47 of the 53 games he played and caught 117 passes for 1,17o yards and eight touchdowns.
Overall, McDonald started in 77 of the 101 games he played and finished with 181 receptions for 2,036 receptions and 15 touchdowns.

"Thank you, Steelers Nation for welcoming us into the family," McDonald said in a statement.
"I've thoroughly enjoyed running over everyone over the years. We will always bleed black and yellow. And thank you to San Francisco for igniting the dream. I'm thankful for my eight years in the NFL and proud to retire a Steeler."

McDonald's retirement leaves the Steelers with two tight ends on the roster - Eric Ebron and Zach Gentry.
