Ten Fun And Free Activities This Weekend Around Pittsburgh
From the Carnegie Science Center to the Manchester Craftsmen's Guild, many places around Pittsburgh are opening their doors for free.

PITTSBURGH, PA - You never can go wrong by going to places that are fun and free. This weekend there again are 10 free events around town showcasing the best Pittsburgh has to offer in museums, parks, arts facilities and more. It’s part of the annual RADical Days, when many of the organizations that are partially funded by Allegheny Regional Asset District sales tax revenues open their doors for free as a thank you to the community.

Free admission for tours: 10a.m., 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m.
Take a special tour of the environmentally smart Gold/platinum LEED-certified building, whose dynamic design offers breath-taking views and a suspended roof structure. Call to reserve your tour time (412) 565-6000. Complimentary parking is available in the DLCC garage on 10th Street. Bring your parking ticket in and exchange for your tour ticket.
Free admission: 4:00-6:30 p.m.
Experience Manchester Craftsmen’s Guild’s “Inspiring Makers” interactive exhibit featuring live jazz music, gallery talks and hands-on design arts activities. Snacks available from Bidwell Training Center's culinary students.

September 30
Free admission: 10 a.m.-noon, 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Ceramics open studio day. A ceramics tech will be on site to offer demos and guide instruction as needed. Pre-registration is required as limited spots are available. Day-of walk-ins will be granted if space is available. To register, call 412-741-4405.

Free admission: noon-4:00 p.m.
The Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall’s Music Hall is patterned after Carnegie Hall in New York City, and is renowned for its superb acoustics. There will be live performances by Tuesday Musical Club and Chatham Baroque and family activities in the library and studio.

Texture presents excerpts from “Boundless “followed by interactive games for the children in the audience. Though the performance is free, seating is limited so tickets must be reserved in advance. October 1
Free admission: 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Discover the science behind Pittsburgh's rivers and see some local animals in H2Oh! Defy Gravity on the Ropes Challenge, try to score against Hockey-bot, tour an authentic submarine, and explore the gigantic model railroad. Free admission to all exhibits, planetarium, and live shows; laser shows not included.

Step back in time to Pittsburgh’s birthplace at the Fort Pitt Museum and discover the world-shaping events that occurred in Western Pennsylvania.
Free admission: 1:00 p.m.
Come for a sneak preview of our upcoming season that features selections from “All Quiet on the Western Front,” “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings,“ and “The Diary of Anne Frank”

Come and experience a live orchestra rehearsal with some cast members of “HMS Pinafore”. Guy Russo conducts the orchestra and vocal rehearsals and fills in any missing parts with his own wonderful singing. Enjoy the lovely music of Gilbert & Sullivan's best-loved operetta.
