These Pittsburgh-Area Hospitals Getting Vaccine This Week
Nearly a quarter of all of the hospitals receiving coronavirus vaccine shipments this week are in southwestern Pennsylvania.

PITTSBURGH, PA — As Pfizer's coronavirus vaccine continues to roll out this week, 87 hospitals across the state will receive their initial doses. Of those, 21 are in southwestern Pennsylvania, according to the state Department of Health.
UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville was the firstmedical facility in the region to receive the vaccine on Monday and UPMC immediately started vaccinating employees.
Health Secretary Rachel Levine said Pennsylvania is expected to receive 97,500 doses this week, which will be distributed at 83 hospitals throughout the state. Another shipment of the Pfizer vaccine is expected next week, but exact amounts are not yet known, Levine said.
