Toronto Blue Jays Might Call Pittsburgh Home This Season
The team is considering playing its home games in PNC Park, according to reports.
PITTSBURGH, PA — After the Canadian government barred the team from playing in its home stadium this season, the Toronto Blue Jays reportedly are considering calling PNC Park home for the upcoming abbreviated baseball season.
The Toronto Sun reported that the team is considering Pittsburgh as the site for its home games this year. Canada has prohibited the team from playing in Rogers Centre because of coronavirus concerns with teams traveling back and forth from the United States.
"Though not a done deal, Pittsburgh is an attractive possibility on a number of areas, starting with location affording easy travel throughout the Jays’ new 10-team division," the Sun reported."There are seven overlapping home dates between the Jays and the Pirates and a minor shuffle of the schedule likely could reduce that number to five.
