Two More Flu Deaths Reported In Allegheny County
Allegheny County has had more flu cases than any other county in the state this season.
PITTSBURGH, PA - Two more flu-related deaths were reported in Allegheny County, raising the total thus far this season to three. According to the Allegheny County Health Department, one person who died was in their 70s, the other in their 40s; both had underlying medical conditions.
The first death, reported last week, was a person more than 90 years old who also had underlying medical conditions.
In addition to the deaths, there have been more than 6,100 cases and 41 hospitalization during the flu season, which began at the end of September.

"We've seen a decline in reported flu cases each week over the past few weeks but we cannot predict if this trend will continue," said Dr. Kristen Mertz, a health department epidemiologist.
Allegheny County has the most reported cases of flu of any county in the state.
