Vincent's Pizza Park Raising Dough To Combat Domestic Violence

The iconic pizza parlor is partnering with the Women's Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh.

PITTSBURGH, PA - There’s a great reason to go to Vincent’s Pizza Park this week beyond sampling one of the legendary North Braddock eatery’s famous pies made famous by the late cigarette smoking pizza maestro Vincent Chianese.

Vincent’s is involved with the Bike Laugh Heal Tour, a cross country bicycling and comedy tour whose goal is to raise $1 million to combat domestic violence and support abuse survivors. As part of that effort, Vincent’s will be donating half of its total sales on August 15 and 16 to the cause.

Vincent’s is partnering with the Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh to present the Pittsburgh leg of the tour. Lisa Zollner, Chianese’s granddaughter who now runs the restaurant, said on its Facebook page that the cause means much to her.

“I, like most people, used to think that there was zero chance I would ever tolerate being in an abusive relationship,” she stated. “Sadly, I was wrong and spent six years of my life with a violent, manipulative monster.”

The Bike Laugh Heal Tour features Mara Marek, comedian and creator of the popular podcast "Happy Never After," and her co-host Andrew Collin. The pair will ride into Pittsburgh on Aug. 22 and perform with local comedians at Cake Pittsburgh on Smallman Street in the Strip District. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door.
