Woman Airlifted After Two People Injured in ATV Crash

Two ATV riders were seriously injured after the ATV rolled over in Washington Township Saturday night.

A male and female were injured when an ATV rolled over on top of them in the area of 696 Ridge Road in Washington Township shortly after 9:30 p.m., on Saturday June 22, 2019.

Paramedics and Firefighters had to utilize bystander ATV's to gain access to the victims off a remote trail on Ridge Road. Both victims were loaded on to a backboard and taken to the main roadway. The ATV intercepted a nearby Kittanning Ambulance waiting on an adjacent road.

A male occupant suffered several lacerations and was transported to Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.

A STAT MedEvac helicopter was requested to respond due to the female victim suffering critical injuries.

The female ATV occupant was airlifted to a UPMC-Hospital Trauma Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for treatment.
