Woman Beaten, Carjacked Near Pittsburgh Giant Eagle
The victim was seriously injured in the Wednesday night incident.

PITTSBURGH, PA - Pittsburgh police are searching for a suspect in a violent assault and carjacking on the South Side that left a woman in serious condition at a local hospital.
Police responded to the Wharton Square Giant Eagle Wednesday night, where they found the woman with severe facial injuries consistent with a pistol-whipping. Investigators determined the woman had picked up a man earlier in the city’s Soho section and later parked their car in the area of Merriman Way and South 21st Street.
At some point, she was beaten before the man got behind the wheel of the car, drove behind the Giant Eagle and threw the woman out of the car before fleeing. The woman was able to walk to the grocery store for help, according to the Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety.
