WTAE-TV Revamps Weekend Newscast Lineup

The station adds a familiar face as a co-anchor, hires new meteorologist.

PITTSBURGH, PA - WTAE-TV has tweaked its Action News weekend team lineup, with reporter Brittany Hoke being promoted to weekend evening anchor and Alex Alecci hired as weekend evening meteorologist.

Hoke has been WTAE’s Westmoreland County bureau reporter since June 2017. She’ll join co-anchor Ryan Recker beginning this weekend.

"Brittany Hoke has established herself as the go-to reporter in Westmoreland and Fayette counties. Our viewers know that if there's a big story, Brittany is the trusted source for up-to-the-minute information,” WTAE-TV news director Jim Parsons said in a station statement. “We are excited for her to bring those qualities to our weekend anchor desk.

Alecci replaces former WTAE meteorologist Ray Petelin, who was let go last month. Petelin since has resurfaced as a weekend forecaster at KDKA-TV.
